As my only backpack, I wanted the bag to meet a few specific criteria. It had to be matte, have a dedicated laptop sleeve, and be compact enough to work as hand luggage for one-bag travel. Since I don’t have space for a separate hiking backpack, it also had to be properly equipped and large enough for my typical hiking trips.
For the occasional night of luxury camping in the local woods, my Arc'teryx Carrier 40 Duffle — in which I normally store my gear — works great. But on longer hikes, when I pack lighter and walk further, I want easy access to snacks, water bottle, and phone while on the move — the Nanu X25 hits the spot.
