Relatively light, impressively warm, and practically waterproof — a down jacket that works just as well on city streets as in the wild. After years of wearing the Veilance Patrol Down Coat around town (wishing it had a proper hood) and dragging out the Patagonia Grade VII Parka for deeper excursions (complete overkill for daily use), I went hunting for one jacket to rule them both. I considered the Patagonia Jackson Glacier Parka, but it felt bulky and awkward. Then I found this Norwegian beauty — and its almost perfect.
